Oh what a Gift it Turned Out to Be

Like I mentioned in my last post, this weeks Bellarific Friday Tutorial is simply filled with amazing techniques and products.  This weeks challenge was to create a gift or a gift card so I simply opted to alter a  wooden box I purchased from the dollar store. I must mentioned this was not a quick and easy project, it took time to construct the idea and of course painting it was not a walk in the park.

The image I decided to use on my box is Theo gives a Prezzie  which is available at Stampingbella. You will notice I have taken out the present portion of the stamp and just used the teddy bear instead.  The designer paper on top of the box is from Tim Holtz Lost and Found Idea-ology pack.  In addition, I used distress inks to color the large flower and added feathers and bling to give it extra pazaaz. The hinges and the hardware used on the box were removed from another dollar store box and used on this one.  I love to improvise and use whatever I can find around the house on my creations.  The feet underneath were purchased from Michaels and they are the 1" candle cups.

I initially coved the box with white Gesso and then used two shades of acrylic green paint to give it more detail and depth.  Just sit back and enjoy the tutorial and I hope you will enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Next weeks challenge is an awesome sketch done by our sweet Paulineabella and that will be the last challenge for 2010.  Lets end the year with a bomb of entries so here is the sketch...

Acrylic Picture frame Post it Note Holder #2

This is Ms. Gagner's gift for being such a wonderful teacher.  We hope she enjoys it.

Note Card Box

Here is a 3"x3"  note card box I made, which is not finished yet.  This box holds mini note cards with envelopes.  I learned how to make this from the splitcoast stampers website and let me tell you this website is absolutely unbelievable.

This is still an unfinished project cause I have to decorate the top and also make the mini note cards and the envelopes to go inside. So sat tuned for the finished result.

My Favorite Recipes Scrapbook

I am very excited to share some of my scrapbook recipe pages with you all.  I had so many loose paper of recipes in between my favorite cookbook .  I had some printed from the internet, some hand written from friends and family and some typed up.  Basically my recipes were scattered all around in a mess and needed major organizing so I decided to put together 8 x 8 recipe book made up of all my scrap papers.  This would be something that can pass onto my daughter and who know maybe even make its way to her daughter :o).  This is just some of the pages I completed and let me tell you it is not even close to being finished.  This is a project that will take some time so stay tuned for updates !!!
I hope you find it inspiring and have fun crafting...

Acrylic Picture frame Post it Note Holder

I made these really cute post it note holders.  I think they would make the best gift for a teacher, a student or a friend who needs reminders...

These were very quick and simple to make.  The first one I made for my daughter who was very sick all weekend and this cheered her up.  The second one was for a friend who I wanted to say thank you.
