Spring is in the air

I had to start out by mentioning what an awesome winter we had this year in Toronto, very mild with rarely any snow.  Spring has now arrived and we brought that  theme to Bellariffic Friday this week.

Meet Cracked Up Huggabugg (BELLARIFFIC1212), isn't she simply adorable.  If you look at her close up photo, you will notice I paper pieced her egg and dress and let me tell you this was no simple task. The image is small and cutting becomes hard when going around tiny areas. To pop it up a bit, I distressed around the egg. For the wings, hair and the chicks, I used my Prisma pencil crayons and of course finished it off with glitter.

For the top and bottom corners, I used Liquid pearl to give it more detail. This huggabugg image comes with the sentiment " You crack me up " and I stamped this on the spellbinders banner die and finished it off with the flowers at the side.

Next week is another lovely sketch challenge (BELLARIFFIC1312), just a quick reminder to upload your cards to the SCS site for a chance to win Bella bucks also Email your card to Emily by next Thursday so she can upload them on the bella blog.

That's all for now friends, thank you for dropping by and have a wonderful weekend !!

See you next week :o)

It Takes a Loooong Time to Grow Young

Speaking of Birthdays, it's my sweet daughter's birthday tomorrow and she will be turning fourteen.  I sometimes cannot believe where the time has gone.  It just feels like yesterday that she was peaking up from her crib and giving me the biggest smile ever to come get her out of bed :o) ohhh how I miss those days.  Like every birthday, we have a mother and daughter lunch date at her favourite restaurant followed by a movie.  This years we will be watching the most awaited movie ever and that is Hunger Games.  My daughter has read all three books in the series and is dying to see this movie, she even started a fan club about one of the characters called Peeta, between you and me, I think she has a little crush :o)

All right, let's get to today's Bellariffic Friday challenge ( BELLARIFFIC1112).  I used  Sneaky sneaky Birthday Bella for my card this week because it suited the sketch perfectly and also  I had yet to create a card with it.  I have so many stamps that have not been inked up yet and I am simply itching to get my Prisma pencil crayons on them.

If you haven't visited the Bella blog yesterday, I highly suggest you do cause Emily had a mind blowing release so don't miss it !! Do you know what that means for me, more stamps are going to be getting my colouring Love :o)

As you can see, I used my favourite colouring medium ( prisma pencil Crayons ) to colour up this image and unfortunately, I did a little bit of a wonky job on stamping the sentiment.

Next weeks challenge is Spring/Easter ( BELLARIFFIC1212). Just email your card to Emily by next Thursday and upload to SCS for a chance to win some Bella bucks.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!!

The card I am sharing with you today is from the Green Bean Baby Stamps called 3 Baby Mermaids under the Sea, but I only used the one image for my card today.

Isn't she simply darling.  I stamped her on Bellas bestest white paper with Memento Black ink and coloured her up with a combination of Copics and Prisma pencil crayons and voila.  The designer paper is from Cosmo Cricket called Salt Air.

It's still not to late to get your card to Emily for this weeks Bellariffic Friday  which consisted of a Sketch. You have till 5:00pm today EST to email it and also be sure to post it to the SCS website for a chance to win some Bella Buck.

Last Day Of March Break

Hello friends, I have been missing in action this week due to March break. The kids were home this week and I  had to be an extra creative mommy to come up with activities for them to do. Tuesday we went to see Dr. Suess movie called Lorax and this movie was filled with very good messages to the new generation. I personally love to watch animations because of the graphics, colours, and how everything comes together. I am such a techie combined with a soul of an artist !! Yesterday was bowling, a bunch of my girlfriends and I arranged bowling for the kids and they had a blast.

Ok, enough about me rambling on about all the activities we did during March break and lets move on to Bellariffic Friday  (BELLARIFFIC1012).

This week, we were to create a card with the colour Green and let me tell you my card consisted for at least 5 different shades of green.  I used a Mo Manning image called Tolerance and I coloured it up with  Prisma pencil crayons. The designer paper in the background is from Basic Grey and the collection is called Marjolaine. I used Glossy Eccents for the baby bottle to give it the effect of glass or plastic and no glitter this time around :-(

Next weeks Bellariffic Friday Challenge (BELLARIFFIC1112) is a cute sketch designed by me and we sure hope you will play along with us. All you have to do is email your card to Emily by Thursday to be in the Bella Blog.

Also a quick reminder to link your cards to SCS gallery for a chance to win a $ 20 gift voucher to shop over at Stamping Bella

Thank you for stopping by and have a terrific weekend everyone !!

Explore Life with Bye Bye Girl

I am back again to share with you another Bellariffic Friday card which consisted of a sketch.  Before I move on with my card, I would like to remind all of you who have participated in the challenge to link your cards on Splitcoast Stampers using the keyword Bellariffic0912, you have until March 15 for a chance to win $20.00 in Bella Bucks.

Moving onto my card, I used a Mo Manning image called Bye Bye Girl, which is available in rubbah over at Stamping Bella.

I stamped my image with Memento Black Ink on Bellas Bestest White paper.  To bring my image to life I used Prisma Pencil Crayons and a touch of the colour Red in Copics.  In addition, I used a White and Black Sakura Glaze pen to accentuate and highlight her backpack.

I cut the sentiment with Spellbinders Lacey Oval Die and used my own handwriting for the word Life. For the finishing touches of course glitter came to the rescue.

Next weeks Bellariffic Friday Challenge is to use the colour  Green on your card or Bella image and email it to Emily by March 15 and upload to SCS with the keyword BELLARIFFIC1012.

Once again thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful creative day !!

Birthday Wishes with Phoebe Ketto

Welcome back bloggers to this weeks theme of Polka dots.  Before I get started, just want to remind you all not to forget to post your cards this week to the Splitcoast Stampers Gallery under the keyword BELLARIFFIC0812.  We would absolutely love to see your lovely creations on the SCS forum as well as on the Bella blog and you could win some bella bucks too in the weekly draw.

For my card this week I used Phoebe Ketto, she had not been receiving any Ink love for quite sometime now so I thought she could use some lovin.  For colouring her up, I used prisma pencil crayons cause they are so pigment rich and produce simply beautiful colours. For extra detail, I used Sakura glitter pen on the flower in her hair and the ruffles on her dress.  For the tips of her hair I added small dabs of Liquid pearl and finished her off with lots of glitter.

The paper she was stamped on is bellas bestest white paper and the background designer paper is MME
6 x6 pad called Meadowlark.

For next week, we are back with another sketch, so let's take a look shall we. Once again don't forget to load up your cards to the SCS gallery and for next week use the key word BELLARIFFIC0912.

Until next week, happy crafting everyone and have a terrific creative weekend !!
