You Perk Me Up

There is nothing like a nice cup of coffee or tea between two good friends on a cold and snowy day like we are having today in Toronto.  I love this new Peeps stamp that was recently released by Emily called perk me up PEEPS which I decided to use for this weeks bellariffic Friday Challenge.

I stamped my image on bellas bestest paper with Memento Black Ink and for the cup I did some paper piecing with some scraps I had lying around in my big scrap bin. The girls were colored with prisma pencil crayons and I used Martha Stewart glitter for the heart centre. OOHHHH I just love this stamp, sorry I am repeating myself here but I really had to get it out of my system :o)

Be sure to visit the awesome BELLA BABES and see what they created this week as I am certain you will not be disappointed . Also check out the Bella Blog to see what all the sistah's came up with. Ohh I am so excited, cant wait to see all awesome eye candy.

Alright, next week is a color challenge which is March's birthstone color Aquamarine. This one is going to be loads of fun cause the Blue and Green shades are so rich, vibrant and cold. I sure hope you will join in on the fun and have your creation submitted to Emily by Thursday. Just so you know for all of those that are new to the Bellarific challenges, by sending your cards to Emily, your name gets entered for a chance to win some Bella bucks, not bad ehh !!

Well, I am off to see what my sistah's have created.  Have a wonderful creative weekend everyone !!

Mixed Media Art Journal - Mermaid

I thought I share with you my latest art journal page of a young mermaid I drew. I did not look at any photos or pictures, all from my head and I think she turned out rather nice however I need to really improve  on figure drawing and shading.

She was coloured with Caran D'ache watersoluble crayons and I also used a smidge of my pan pastels for the skin color and added a prima flower to give it the final touch.

A little Bit of Coco Chanel - Mixed Media Art on Canvas

After seeing Emily's superb artwork on Canvas, I was fully inspired to create my very own.
Ever since I was little, fashion always fascinated me one way or another.  I remember sketching fashion models with the latest and the greatest styles of my time. Looking back, I wish I kept all those old sketches.

As you will notice, Red dominates my mixed media art work.  My favorite colors happen to be red, black and White and I tried to incorporate that color palette onto my work. Also in my opinion these colors are classics and will never fade. I just love this quote by Coco Chanel " Fashion Fades, only Style remains the same " and how true this is.

Moving along to the details of my creation. The canvas size I used was 12 by 14 inches and I covered it completely with the 7 gypsies 6 x 6 paper pack called collection from the Journey.  If you look closely to the center of the canvas, you will notice a young lady sitting in a red chair drinking a cup of coffee or tea. This image was from a Scrapbooking magazine, and I applied the image transfer technique to place it on to the canvas.  I must warn you this technique gets a little messy. On the left hand side, I used stamp stickers from K& CO to give it a border look. I also used the Fashion Doll set from quick Kutz to create the sizzling model in the black and white outfit.  I finally finished it off with some more images from Graphic 45 and Tim Holtz distress Inks.

I hope I covered all the details.  I also hope this will inspire you to give Mixed media Art on Canvas a try. Thanks for dropping by and have a great week everyone !!!!

Bellarific Friday - Hoping

Welcome back to another wonderful Bellarific Friday which was a sketch done by yours truly.  I know I mentioned this a gazzilion times but I love the Mo Manning stamps therefore I have used Hoping as my image for this layout.

As always she was stamped with Memento black Ink on Bellas Bestest Paper. The designer paper I picked for the sketch was from My minds Eye paper pack which has no name of the collection.  Also just a heads up for all of you die hard fans who were watching my Bellarific tutorials on youtube, unfortunately I will not be creating them any more but that doesn't mean there wont be any other awesome videos so be sure to check out The Stampingbella channel on youtube regularly cause you never know what you will find.

Next weeks challenge is to show some lovin Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net to a Bella stamp that has yet to meet with an Ink pad or that hasn't been inked up in a long time :o) ohhh do I have some that need some lovin, do you ??? I hope you will play along with us Babes and submit your cards to Emily by Thursday the latest. Well I am off to see what the other Babe-aroonies have created. Round and Round We Go

A circle card is this weeks Mojo.  Welcome everyone for another terrific  bellarific Friday challenge which was to create a circle card and here is what I came up with.

Introducing Lizzy Laptop. Isn't she the sweetest image ever and she reminds me of me except for the bathrobe part, I prefer lounging in my fleece PJ's.  I stamped her on Bellas bestest white paper and colored her  with Tim Holtz Distress inks.  I had never used the inks to color an image before and I was curious as to how it would turn out and I must say it doesn't look bad at all. With a small paint brush, ink and a tiny bit of water is all you need to color and the best part is it's a lot less expensive then prisma pencil crayons or Pablos.

Here is the video tutorial for my card, hope you enjoy it.

Next weeks Bellarific challenge is a Sketch I have created so I hope you will join in on the fun and give the sketch a shot. Well everyone I am off to visit what the awesome babes have created with the circle card so make sure to check out Emily's blog for all the awesome eye candy. Before I forget here is the sketch.

Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for stopping by !!!

With Hugs and Kisses

I don't need to mention it's another awesome Bellariffic Friday with the Challenge of Valentine.  One of  my favorite celebrations of the year.  To love is one of the most powerful emotions we have been gifted with. I once read this saying about love that stuck to my head and it went like this, " Love is only a word until you find someone who gives it meaning" the author is Unknown but how true is his or her perception of the word.

Lets move on to my card which took the shape of a heart and an image that is perfect for this occasion, Little Peeps Heart

The shape of the heart was cut using my Cricut machine and the Wild Card Cartridge. I love this particular cartridge cause it's so versatile and you can create awesome looking card bases.  Also don't you just love this little peeps stamp from Stampingbella. As always this image was stamped on bellas bestest paper with memento Black ink and I used paper from Sassafras Lass Collection called Hog Heaven.  Here is the video tutorial for my card, so enjoy...

Next weeks Bellariffic Friday is a Circle card which I am looking so forward to creating cause I love the look of a circle card. I hope you can play along with the rest of us and show off your creations, simply email you card to Em by Thursday and be included to win some bella buckaroonies. Also don't forget to check out the bella blog to see what the other babes and the sistah hood has created for Valentines.

Thanks for checking in and have an awesome weekend everyone !!
